From California, for a robotic nipple-sparing mastectomy
A patient with an early-stage cancer and a genetic mutation who researched extensively, then travelled to Dallas.
This patient had a low-stage breast cancer and a genetic mutation. She did a great deal of research and travelled from California for Dr. Haddock and Dr. Farr to perform her surgery.
She first underwent a reduction so that she would qualify for a nipple-sparing mastectomy, then had a robotic nipple-sparing mastectomy with reconstruction.
She describes being given every option, and then being left to decide. She weighed DIEP flaps against implants, found both sets of results convincing, and chose implants for the quicker recovery. She describes the team as patient and very responsive to questions, and says nobody tried to steer her.
