Dr. Haddock spoke at the LA Symposium in Plastic Surgery, hosted at Cedars-Sinai, on alternative flaps and on managing the aesthetics of the donor site.
The donor site is not an afterthought. A patient lives with the abdomen, thigh or flank the tissue was taken from for the rest of her life, and how that site is closed and contoured determines much of how she feels about the whole reconstruction.
